JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Database Administrator/IT Support
DEPARTMENT: Administration
REPORTS TO: Administrative Manager and Managing Director (Management Team)
CLASSIFICATION: Regular – Year Round
STARTING PAY: $_____ Hourly (Non-exempt)
WORK HOURS: 40 hours per week (Typically Monday through Friday)

SUMMARY: This role, under the Admin Manager and Managing Director, maintains database systems and implements new hardware and software to ensure smooth information flow and prioritize data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Database Management
• Designs and implements databases based on direction from the management team and in accordance with end users' information needs.
• Oversees agency databases for accuracy, efficiency, and necessary upgrades.
• Ensures proactive support and training for users in data management.
• Generates special reports and tabulations of data as needed.
• Develops innovative solutions to business problems.
• Implements and maintains database monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Performs data entry and generates bar code labels as needed.
• Meets with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
• Maintains automation manuals and updates resource materials.
IT Support
• Troubleshoots the local area network (Windows Server 2022 Standard).
• Coordinate with external IT providers for support and updates.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supports the Administrative Manager with maintaining the agency inventory.
• Serves on internal agency committees as appointed.
• Performs any other duties needed to help fulfill our mission or that support our organization's values.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
• MS Access database design and programming.
• Software applications such as Microsoft Operating Systems, MS Access, Visual Basic for Applications, MS Office 365 for Business, etc.
• Information gathering methods and report preparation.
• Modern office procedures and equipment, record and information management.
Skill in:
• Problem solving and creativity to generate new solutions to new problems.
• Coordination of workflow and service requests from multiple departments.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environment.
Ability to:

ENVIRONMENTAL SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is performed in a controlled indoor office environment, requiring the use of standard office equipment like computers and printers. Employees must be able to engage in repetitive wrist and finger movements and sit for extended periods. They should have close visual acuity for computer use and reading. Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds, walking short distances, and driving for material delivery may also be necessary.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
• 3+ years of experience in database administration or engineering.
• College coursework/technical training in computer technology or equivalent experience.
• An IT background is a plus.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
• A pre-employment background check.
